Technics Home Stereo Hook Up Directions
And by including removable shelf-mount stands and wall-mount brackets for the satellite and center speakers, the system offers you great flexibility for installing the speakers in different locations. You can even place these video-shielded speakers near your TV without causing magnetic interference. While viewing an action film, you hear every crash, bang and boom the soundtrack has to offer. A subwoofer properly in phase with the satellite speakers generates clear, and lifelike sounds for instruments such as drums, piano and plucked strings. Magnetically shielded loudspeaker components Unshielded loudspeaker components can upset the magnetic field in a conventional TV, resulting in visible color shifts and possible long-term damage. Energy-saving features To adhere to European guidelines, the HKTS 9BQ system uses low standby-power consumption — less than 1 watt — and includes a number of energy-efficient features. If the subwoofer receives no audio signal for 15 minutes, the subwoofer automatically shuts off. The speakers are magnetically shielded to prevent interference that can damage your television. Together, the combination creates an immersive, degree surround-sound environment.

This is a basic set up that everything just works. As you go through set up you tell the Xbox what Cable box, who your provider is and what zip code you live in. Once your components are plugged in, plug in your network cable and you are ready to turn it on. Out of the box there was an update to the Xbox One, which I understand, that took my almost 30 minutes. The first part of the update there will be a thermometer on the screen letting you know how far along it it.
This question was asked by one of our readers, because they were going to buy the Samsung W Sound Bar (HW) and wanted to hook it up to their receiver but weren’t sure if that was possible. Sound bars are extremely popular because they are a simple way to take your TV sound to a new level. They are easy to set up, don’t take up much space, and generally not pricey.
Common Mistakes You spent a tonne of money and time setting up your new home theatre system, but something just doesn’t seem right. Did you make any mistakes? To find out, check out our list of common mistakes many of us make when trying to put together a home theatre system. This doesn’t mean you have to spend thousands for a decent system, but you should consider speakers that can do the job. With many choices it may seem difficult but the best thing to do is to actually listen to speakers at one of our stores before you buy.
Do your own comparisons by taking your own CDs and DVDs with you to hear what they sound like with various speakers. Unbalanced speaker levels You’ve connected and placed the speakers, turned everything on, but nothing sounds right; the subwoofer overwhelms the room, dialog can’t be heard over the rest of the soundtrack, and the surround sound effect is too low.
This is easily solved as most home theatre receivers have a setup menu that allows you to note the size, as well as the distance of the speakers from the prime listening position. This also includes a test tone generator to assist in adjusting the sound output level of each speaker. Not reading the user manuals No matter how easy it looks, it is always a good idea to read the owner’s manual for your components, even before you take them out of the box.
There is an excessive amount of traffic coming from your Region.
You can use a flat screen TV. You can use a movie projector and movie screen. Basically anything you want to use to view either TV or a movie or sports programming. This is a stereo amplifier which you can connect your speakers and subwoofer. The Home Theater in a box is a complete surround sound system in one box.
In this case, the price will directly relate to the quality of the system.
Hooking up a Home Theater system is a lot easier than it sounds. The fundamental rule when connecting the components together is that all the cables are connected, OUT to IN. The sound or the video signal will transfer OUT of a device, a DVD or Blu-ray player, CD player, VCR etc., and IN to another, surround sound receiver or a video display.
Thanks, Allen; sounds like good, thoughtful, advice! However, I would note that I currently get “surround sound” through my five speakers, right, left, center, and left and right rear, from my old Cox set up and my current receiver, with just the coax connection — to the receiver itself. I have complained about this in other threads. The minibox coax output is analog so it’s compatible with older devices which don’t have a digital tuner.
This analog signal is only SD video and stereo audio. Maybe someone from Cox can answer why. Thanks for anything you might add, but your advice sounds very good, as far as it goes. I’m an old guy, too, but a retired engineer with over 50 years audio, now AV experience as a hobby, not profession.

November 18, 9: The setup was disassembled by a well meaning family member, and nothing was documented as to how it was originally setup. In addition to this, they bought some new components to be added or replaced existing components. The issue I am having is with the sound bar that was purchased. It is being added to a setup that had a Sony Receiver that is being used to pipe audio from the television to several sets of speakers around he house.
I can get the television audio to play over the house speakers, but not over the sound bar that is hooked to the television. The sound bar was purchased to augment the television sound for an elderly family member Audio quality is not priority, just that it exists and is loud enough for those hard of hearing. I can take out the receiver and plug the cable box directly to the television and everything works, but when i put the receiver in the mix, the sound signal doesn’t seem to get to the television, like its being headed off by the receiver.
I have not had a chance to get the system configured in detail this was sprung on me last minute of another service call and I think maybe enabling the pass through on the Receiver may help with this scenario. I would like to have a few possible fixes in mind, as I want to save face in front of my client on the next call and resolve this in one shot.

Can’t get the components hooked up. The closest I came to success was could get sound through all stereo speakers when the receiver was on DVD setting but I could not play the radio as only got static.
However, if you’re connecting all of that gear to your TV’s crappy speakers, the results will be less than stellar. It’s time to fix that. Setting up a proper home theatre doesn’t have to be terribly expensive or complicated. Here’s how to build or rebuild your home theatre. Beefing up your home theatre isn’t difficult, and there are heaps of benefits. In this post, we’ll walk you through the basics you’ll need for any home entertainment system, and offer a few pointers to get the best bang for your buck and make setup easy. Not that when we say “home theatre,” we’re not talking about putting a full movie theatre in your home, we’re simply describing what your home entertainment system will be like when you’re finished: We’re going to assume you have a few components already, such as a game console, Blu-ray player, Foxtel box or PVR — the stuff you’re actually going to hook up to your home theatre.
We’ll tackle how to shop for the best audio components without breaking the bank in a moment, but for now here’s a quick list of the core items: High-definition televisions are quite affordable these days, and the impending switch to digital means most Australians are likely to have a relatively capable TV. A new TV doesn’t just have to mean a bigger screen either; the latest TVs are extremely thin and light, making them easy to move around, and come with smart features like built-in internet streaming, Wi-Fi connectivity to your other devices and their own range of apps.
Your receiver will be the hub that handles all of the video and audio for your system.

Share on Facebook Technics home stereo systems might seem dated now, with their tape deck and phono connections, but Technics doesn’t cut corners with quality. If you have one of these old systems, there’s a good chance it will still work well with CD and DVD players. Just as with any surround sound system, you may choose to connect two front speakers and listen to audio in plain stereo, or you can connect a full 5.

The Basics of Home Theater: If you’ve come this far, odds are that you either have some new electronic toys in hand or are seriously considering the purchase of some. That means that it’s about time to start hooking everything up. This stage is often particularly challenging for people who are new to home theater, so I’ve endeavored to provide some handy reference material here. Originally, I tried to show complete systems of varying complexity.
I’ve changed that approach and have instead developed a series of diagrams addressing the hook-up of specific components.
